The Pacific Northwest Trip

Absent snow in the Sierras prompted Andre and I to seek greener pastures to the north. First stop was Mt Shasta, where the snow was too low. Local climbers convinced us to go rock climbing instead.
Mt Shasta
Next was Mt Hood, Oregon. This beautiful peak is easily accessible due to the small ski resort build at the base. The friendly uphill culture was a great bonus! We skinned up perfect corduroy the first 1500 ft. By the time we got to the end of the groomed section winds picked up. We kept pushing forward however, after all we could always turn back if weather gets bad. By the time we decided to turn back, we were in a full blown storm, and almost zero visibility. We both got hypothermic in a matter of few minutes.
