Spook Canyon

Spook Canyon is this improbable line visible form 395. It splits Mt Perkins right in the middle. You have looked at it, I am sure. I have many times. I also hiked to it before knowing what it is. Near the start there is an intimidating rock band that guards access to the amazing chute above. Perhaps it is passable? In the winter of 2011 conditions looked just right, and I was fortunate to have met splitborder Dave, who has an extensive knowledge of the Sierra backcountry, and for this particular stretch between Big Pine and Independence.
